Pastor Lee
Pastor Lee was born in 1959 in a Christian home in Chungjoo City in South Korea. When he was 25 years old, attending law school in Seoul, he had an opportunity to visit the church that his mother served as pastor on Jesu Island.
"I went there and saw what she was doing as a pastor of a small church. She taught the children the Bible and took care of them with the conviction that someday they would grow to be the leaders of the country, Korea. At that time, I compared my life-style with her life. My mother served the little ones to make Jesus first, others second, and her last. I was shocked and reflected on my life. I finally found true meaning in serving and sharing life. I wanted to be a pastor like my mother."
Pastor Lee Joined Concord United Methodist Church in July 2010. His wife Pastor Hyesung Hong Lee is also a pastor of the Canaan Korean UMC in Marina, Monterey Bay California. They have a son Hozeh Lee, who is a student at De Anza College in Cupertino, and a daughter, who is a student at Pasadena City College.
