Music

4th of July, Todos Santos Park, Concord

Music, Music, Music !!!

Yes music, brings us joy, it brings us peace, it brings us hope, it brings us laughter. What a better way to express ourselves to God than through the vibrations of voice and instruments. We have a wonderful opportunity at CUMC to do just that. So think about maybe joining the choir or our orchestra.

You don't have to have the best voice, we learn how to blend and become one with each other. Well maybe orchestra is a little harder, because you do need to have played an instrument at one time or another, but if every Sunday you are sitting out there thinking to yourself how much you would like to be up with the choir or in the orchestra, please come try and love the experience.

For more information please contact:
Doug Emigh, 685-5260 or Mary Spryer, 672-7232.
Choir rehearsal is on Thursdays at 7:30pm in Sherrill Hall.

Thanks and Peace

Have you heard of the 8:00 Singers?

We are a small Christian group who shares our love of the Lord and the Holy Spirit with the 8:00 congregation who sing the second Sunday of each month.
Our music consists of the older hymns, e.g., The Old Rugged Cross.  You too may have a love for these hymns.  Reading music isn’t a prerequisite. You don’t have to be a good singer but only believe in the Lord and want to get to know him better.
It’s a great way to start the day and the week ahead.  Practice is before the second Sunday service at 7:00 am.  No extra time needed for practice as the music is familiar to many.
Included in the service is Pastor Lee’s wonderful sermons plus his printed text.   Communion is served every Sunday plus Bill Rodriguez’ spirit directed guitar playing.
The last Sunday of each month is classical music Sunday.   Please let Lee know your favorite composer’s name and music.

Join us!  Become part of our 8:00 family!
