CUMC has been providing an evening meal for the residents at the singles homeless shelter in Concord on the second Thursday of each month for about 15 years.
The menu is the same each month -- a hot entree consisting of chicken, noodles, and chopped vegetables, three bean salad, slaw, cupcakes, rolls. The salads are made, rolls buttered, and vegetables chopped for the hot dish on Thursday morning, and ladies bring cupcakes from home. Another group delivers and serves the meal at the shelter. All this wonderful work of feeding the hungry is done by volunteers. Thank you all very much.

Substitute Nursery Care
Occasionally, due to vacations or unexpected illness, substitute attendants are needed in the nursery during Sunday morning church services.
The nursery staff would like to have a list of 2 or 3 people available on an "on call" basis when the regular attendants are unable to be there. To qualify for this paid position, ($8.oo per hour) a background check, finger printing, and CPR certification are required. The cost of these services will be paid for by the church.

8:00 am Service
Thanks to the 8 O’clock singers for their wonderful music the second Sunday of each month. They are on hiatus until September. Have you thought about singing a solo at the 8:00 am service? Who do you know who isn’t a member but has a wonderful talent to share with our CUMC members? Please let Jan Carpoff (672-5958) or me know. We would love to have the pleasure of listening to you. .
